West Lancashire MP, Rosie Cooper has given her backing to the Advertiser's We Love Skelmersdale campaign.
"The people and the place of Skelmersdale are great and I am working hard to make it even better. There is no doubt that Skelmersdale is place that is moving forward. Just take a look at the ambitious plans for a brand new state-of-the-art Skelmersdale College as well as the plans for the redevelopment of the new town centre that are beginning to happen."
"Skelmersdale has large areas of beautiful greenery, for instance the open spaces of Ashurst Beacon and Tawd Valley Park of which many other towns would be envious. The real strength of the town is its people. I regularly visit companies, schools, and community organisations were there is fantastic work and activities happening that need to be highlighted more. It is clear to me how much pride people have in the town and how dedicated they are to make the best of Skelmersdale's assets."
"The only people who are negative about the town are those who've never visited and know absolutely nothing about Skelmersdale and its residents. I hope that everyone gets behind the Advertiser's We Love Skelmersdale campaign to highlight the real strengths of the town and the ambitious plans for an even better future."
