01/08/2014 - MP Rosie encourages Aughton residents to make their

Aughton residents opposed to the proposed solar farm planning application raised concerns with MP Rosie Cooper over the duration of the consultation period.

West Lancashire MP Rosie Cooper raised these concerns and received correspondence from West Lancashire Borough Council's planning department, which states it is the council's practise to consider all correspondence received until such time as the officer report is finalised a few days before the issue of a decision.

The statutory consultation period ran for 21 days ending on 23 July 2014

On this advice MP Rosie is encouraging those residents who have yet to make their views known on this controversial planning application and thought they had missed the deadline to still write to the Borough Council with their concerns.

MP Rosie said:

"I know a lot of residents have already submitted their objections to these controversial solar farm proposals on greenbelt land in Aughton.

"If there are any residents who have yet to submit their comments to the Borough Council I would encourage them to do so as soon as possible in order that the Planning Officers can fully consider your views."

It is expected 4 September 2014 will be the earliest date for a decision.
