West Lancashire MP Rosie Cooper has welcomed the Government’s Global Poverty Action fund, which could help the brilliant charitable organisations in West Lancashire save lives and support the developing world.
Speaking after the announcement Rosie said “this is a fantastic opportunity for our already outstanding charitable organisation to expand further. I encourage all organisations, charities and others working on not for profit basis, who are working to help people out of poverty in the developing world to submit applications to the fund.”
Until now, many smaller organisations have been unable to access funding from the Department for International Development. However this new scheme gives organisations the chance to get new ideas off the ground and expand existing projects.
There are two ways charitable organisations. The innovation fund is designed to help smaller organisations that have an idea which could improve the lives of people living in the world’s poorest countries. And the impact fund for existing projects, matching pound for pound money raised by the organisation allowing them to expand their work in developing countries.
