Rosie Cooper MP said:
"Without Virgin’s application for a judicial review this calamitous mistake would have been foisted on the British public. The Government has acknowledged serious mistakes in the process and should now go further, allowing Virgin Trains to continue to run the West Coast mainline, until the Department of Transport has sorted the mess it created.
“I still haven't had answers to the questions I have tabled nor the questions I posed during the Parliamentary debate I led on Monday 17th September 2012. The Minister said he couldn't answer many of the questions because of the Judicial Review and said he would do so when the process had been completed.
“With the news that the process has been abandoned and the Government doesn't intend to contest the Judicial Review, he should answer those questions immediately.”
