“Collect it yourself” is Royal Mail bosses’ solution to complaints over mail delivery time.
West Lancashire MP Rosie Cooper wrote to Royal Mail on behalf of a West Lancashire constituent who had raised concerns about the time of the day they were receiving their post. Royal Mail Chief Executive, Moya Greene, replied suggesting a Mail Collection service would be the only option for residents who want to get their mail earlier.
MP Rosie said:
“It is incredible that the only solution from the head of Royal Mail is to come and collect the post yourself.
“Our postal workers for the most part do an excellent job under increasingly difficult circumstances.
“If Royal Mail is going to survive in the face of competition from other postal companies and the internet, it needs be putting its customers first.
“When I read the reply I found it simply astonishing.”
