05/12/07 Rosie supports a ‘life for life’ memorial site in West Lancashire

Responding to a letter from Rosie Cooper MP has in support of a ‘Life for Life’ Memorial site in West Lancashire West Lancashire District Council Chief Executive Bill Taylor said WLDC are giving careful consideration to one particular site that has potential for a memorial.

Rosie said: “I am confident that we are moving towards a favorable decision on the question of a memorial site for West Lancashire. These memorial sites offer a very scenic and peaceful place for relatives to come and pay their reflect and remember loved ones.”

The 'Life for a Life' scheme involves the planting of a memorial tree or trees, installing memorial benches and memorial plaques to commemorate loved ones. Over time, these trees will develop into a beautiful organised forest that everyone can enjoy.

The scheme has been specifically designed to benefit individuals and families who are grieving over the loss of a loved one, regardless of their age, status or religious beliefs.
