Working hard for the people of West Lancashire

08/06/11 - Respite Care Services in West Lancashire

West Lancashire MP, Rosie Cooper said:

“Once again we are seeing the price of Conservative rule.  I am shocked by the 300% increase in costs but I’m no longer surprised by what the Conservative’s at County Hall do.  It is the typical Conservative attitude.  They know the price of everything and the value of nothing.

“I see this as nothing more than another out and out attack on the most elderly and vulnerable people in our communities.  In recent weeks we have seen the disgraceful cuts to vital transport services offered by West Lancashire Dial-A-Ride and the decision to cut funding for care services except in the most severe cases.  Leaving many people wondering how they can afford to get to the hospital, see their family and friends or afford to pay for a carer to help with their meals and put them to bed.

“We keep hearing from the Conservatives that we are all in this together.  It is clear some people are more in this than others.”
