08/11/05 Hospital Merger Update

This week in Parliament Rosie will be speaking to the MPs whose constituencies could potentially be affected by the proposed merger of the Hospital Trusts. All of the MPs are concerned about the impact this could have on the communities they serve. This is just not an issue for West Lancashire but a much bigger population that spreads across the whole of Liverpool.

There is no doubt this is an issue that will be addressed at the highest levels of Government. Rosie has meetings arranged with senior Civil Servants at the Department of Health in the next couple of weeks.

This includes the following Members of Parliament:

David Borrow (South Ribble)
Jane Kennedy (Wavertree) and a Parliamentary Under-Secretary of State at the Department of Health
Maria Eagle (Liverpool Garston)
George Howarth (Knowsley North & Sefton East)
Louise Ellman (Liverpool Riverside)
