Local community groups or charity groups could apply for up to £5000 of B&Q materials. Local MP Rosie Cooper is encouraging local groups to apply for the materials that could help towards an environmental, sports or community project.
The types of projects that won the money last year included composting area and household recycling project, renovation of a double decker bus into a community space offering an IT suite and coffee bar area; and a community wildlife garden.
“If any local groups or organisations I have any good ideas for a sports, community or environmental project then please put in application to the B&Q awards. This could provide an excellent kick start to some of the projects people have wanted to do for some time.”
The deadline for applications March 30 2007. Anyone wanting more information can call Rosie Cooper MP on 01695 570094 or visit www.diy.com/awards.
