Local MP Rosie Cooper has congratulated The Advertiser for its contribution to the local community.
Speaking at the start of Local Newspaper Week, Rosie said “People in West Lancashire really appreciate their local papers. We live in an age where new media plays an increasingly important role in communicating information, but most people still rely on their local paper to find out what’s going on in the community. That local touch of familiar faces and places, with stories happening on your doorstep, is vital in strengthening communities. As an MP, The Advertiser is important to me because it is a great way to keep people up to date with the hard work I am doing in Parliament for the residents of West Lancashire."
“This week is Local Newspaper Week so there is particular cause for celebration. But we should be trumpeting the value of the local media every day and every week of the year.”
