Working hard for the people of West Lancashire

11/10/10 MP Rosie comments on Brookside Care Home construction

West Lancashire MP Rosie Cooper has welcomed the beginning of the building works for the new Brookside Care Home.  Rosie joined other partners for the cutting of the first sod at the site on Aughton Street in Ormskirk on Friday 8th October.
West Lancashire MP Rosie Cooper said:
“I am delighted that this fantastic new facility is getting closer to being open.  Thanks to the £7.3 million under the last Labour Government this scheme is going ahead.  It will provide state-of-the-art facilities for older people with dementia and their carers.
“People are now living longer than ever before and this investment in brand new facilities will help us to meet the challenges of how older people are looked after and cared for now and in the future.  It is only right that we provide people with high quality care services whilst being able to maintain their independence.
“I hope the new Brookside Care Home is open as soon as possible so that West Lancashire residents and their carers can get the benefit of these fantastic new facilities.”
