Tesco have informed West Lancashire MP Rosie Cooper that they are relocating the disabled parking bays at their Burscough store following complaints from residents.
Constituents contacted MP Rosie over the parking facilities at the Burscough store; complaints were made as all the parking bays adjacent to the entrance of the store were allocated to Mother and Child spaces. Therefore, disabled customers had to cross a busy entrance road to gain access to the store. Furthermore the bays allocated for disabled customers had been extended to the far end of the car park.
Rosie Cooper contacted Tesco over constituents concerns, to which they responded that after looking in to their parking facilities at the Burscough store they would be relocating the disabled parking bays so that they are closer to the store entrance. The works are due to take around 15 weeks to be completed subject to gaining planning permission.
Rosie Cooper MP said:
“I welcome Tesco Burscough’s decision to relocate disabled parking bays to bring them closer to the store entrance and improve safety for its disabled customers.
“It is encouraging that the store has listened to customer concerns and taken the necessary action to resolve the situation. I’m sure people using the disabled bays will welcome this decision.”
