12/12/06 MP Rosie comments on SSAFA
Rosie said: “How fantastic it must be for Mr Bankier to now be able to get out and about after being a prisoner in his home for the past 18 months. This scooter is a real lifeline that gives him a new found freedom to visit the local shops, to see friends and enjoy being outdoors again." “It was a real privilege to be asked to present him with the scooter, as I said to Mr Bankier I hope he will make the most of the scooter and that I will be see him zipping up and down the streets.” “Thanks must also go to Mr Eric Miller from SSAFA who is retiring after 20 years as secretary. How pleasing it must be, that his final act with the association is to give Mr Bankier the freedom to get out of the house and the freedom to choose where he goes. I would just like to congratulate him for all his work over the years.”
