Rosie Cooper MP has supported the Country Land and Business Association’s calls for a reduction in fuel prices in rural areas of Northern England.
The CLA have asked the Government to extend its pilot rural fuel derogation from the Highlands and the Isles of Scilly down to the North.
West Lancashire MP Rosie Cooper said:
"For some time I have been supporting campaigns such as fairfuel in calling for a reduction in the cost of fuel as a boost for local businesses and to ease the financial burden on hard working families.
"I do welcome the call from the Country Land and Business Association for a cut of 5p per litre in fuel prices. Rural communities such as West Lancashire are very much reliant on cars and vans to go about their daily business. This Conservative-led Government needs to be doing more now to help our businesses and rural communities.”
