Aughton resident, Eunice Woof MBE, was surprised to receive her MPs Hero Award on her recent trip to the House of Commons. Rosie Cooper MP nominated Eunice for this accolade following many years service for the local community and charities. Eunice was invited to London for the reception but her award was kept secret until the very last minute.
“Eunice thoroughly deserves to receive this award in recognition of her tireless work and commitment to the local community. It was a real privilege to nominate her and it was an honour to welcome her to the Houses of Parliament for the day. The list of Eunice’s many years charitable and community activities is extensive – just amazing.”
“I think it is right that we should appropriately recognise and celebrate all the hard work that takes place everyday in our local area by people volunteering. MPs Local Hero Awards is just a small thank you to all those individuals.”
“It was a delightful surprise to receive this award. I had absolutely no idea that my trip to the House of Commons would end in me getting this award. I am very proud to have been nominated. I find the work I do with various local groups and organisations very rewarding. Everyone should be encouraged to help out in some way by volunteering their time and effort.”
“This is a day I will never forget.”
