West Lancashire MP Rosie Cooper said:
“I regularly hear from business, residents and visitors about the need to reinvigorate Ormskirk town centre. In July last year I spoke at the Ormskirk Community Partnership public meeting about recreating a market town. A 21st century market town.
“We all know the town faces certain challenges and that there needs to be a plan of action and a vision for a modern town centre. I believe everyone wants to see a high street that is thriving, offering real choice, good quality products and variety of outlets not necessarily just shops. Most of all it is place in which attracts people, building a strong sense of community.
“This proposed bid to the Portas Pilot Review is an excellent idea and the first step towards a revitalised Ormskirk town centre. The bid has my full backing and supporting and I am willing to work with local businesses to help out with the bid.”
