Rosie Cooper would like to make West Lancashire residents aware that with Christmas fast approaching, Royal Mail and Trading Standards have highlighted a postal scam in our area.
Rosie said “It is often the elderly and vulnerable who fall victim to these scams but I urge everyone to be vigilant in the run up to xmas. Don’t incur an unnecessary extra bill at a time when the money is better spent on you having an enjoyable Christmas!”
A card posted through our door from a company called PDS (Parcel Delivery Service) suggesting that they were unable to deliver a parcel and that you need to contact them on 0906 661 1911. This is a PREMIUM RATE phone number originating in Belize.
If you call the number and you start to hear a recorded message you will already have been billed £15 for the phone call. If you do receive a card with these details, then please contact Royal Mail fraud on 02072396655 or ICSTIS (the premium rate phone regulator) at: www.icstis.org.uk.
