West Lancs MP Rosie Cooper has welcomed plans introduced this week by the Government to install Smart Meters in all homes in the country by 2020 in a bid to save consumers and small businesses money and reduce carbon emissions.
Smart meters mean that you won’t have to wait around for the meter man anymore. They also mark the end of estimated billing and give consumers accurate and up to date information about the amount of energy they are using.
West Lancashire MP Rosie Cooper said “Smart meters will help people to keep an eye on the electricity or gas they are using, saving them both energy and money.
“Using a smart meter could help thousands of families in West Lancashire save 10% off their bills every year, as well as playing a part in reducing the effect of climate change on the planet. I'm proud that this Government is leading the way and taking the necessary action to save consumers money and nearly 3 million tonnes of CO2 annually.”
