West Lancashire MP Rosie Cooper has welcomed Lancashire County Council’s confirmation that subsidy support for the 315 Bus Service has been extended for a further six months until 24 April 2014.
Rosie has worked with local residents to get a service reinstated serving residents in Haskayne, after a period when no bus services were available and an unsuccessful pilot of a demand responsive transport scheme.
Following the announcement, MP Rosie said:
“I welcome the six-month extension to the service. The passengers using the service find it invaluable.
“However, Lancashire County Council are clear that the future of the service depends on maintaining current passenger numbers or even increasing them. My message to residents is use it or lose it.”
