Burscough business, TRG Pest Control Services is attempting to support local young people with apprenticeship opportunities only to be met with silence from West Lancashire Borough Council.
Five months after the Borough Council promised to contact the company after they enquired about financial assistance for apprenticeships, unbelievably TRG Pest Control Services are still waiting to hear back from the Council.
The company attempted to find out if they were eligible for any support from the West Lancashire Challenge Fund. Rosie Cooper MP has written to the Borough Council to get some answers and to ensure the company to gets the advice it needs to provide trainee and apprenticeship opportunities.
Technical Director at TGR Pest Control Services, Abigail Reade said:
"It is deeply disappointing that despite our best efforts to provide support and opportunities for young people in West Lancashire we have been ignored by West Lancashire Borough Council.
"As a local business we are committed to supporting young people by creating training and employment opportunities, with Rosie Cooper's involvement I hope we will finally be able to get some progress on our initial enquiry.
Rosie Cooper MP said:
"We know just how difficult it is for any young people looking for a chance to get into the job market. Apprenticeships and training opportunities are scarce and valuable at the moment as are companies that will offer these opportunities.”
"I can fully understand Abigail's frustration at not getting any help from the council. Therefore, it would be helpful if the Borough Council would reply to these businesses who are keen to take on young people. I trust that this situation will be resolved swiftly."
