West Lancashire MP Rosie Cooper and residents are up in arms over being kept hanging on the telephone whilst trying to get through to West Lancashire Borough Council. One resident was kept waiting for over one hour and the MP was on hold for 15 minutes before getting fed-up waiting for the council’s customer service call centre to answer the phone.
MP Rosie is calling on the Council to explain their failure to answer calls within an appropriate time. Rosie has written to the Council asking what has happened to cause this deterioration in the service they are offering the people of West Lancashire.
MP Rosie said:
“Trying to get through to West Lancashire Borough Council is laughable. One resident contacted me to say they had been on hold for one hour on Friday and a further hour on Monday.
“I even tried calling myself using the 577177 number. After 15 minutes I got bored of being told how important my call is to the council. They will have to forgive me and many other residents for not believing them as actions speak louder than words. Clearly the people who pay their wages aren’t that important to them when it is taking over 1 hour to answer a call.
“West Lancashire Borough Council needs to apologise to local residents and explain why council taxpayers of West Lancashire are received such a shambolic and poor quality service. This is simply not acceptable.”
