West Lancashire MP Rosie Cooper said:
“I have been contacted by Shopmobility and local residents who are very concerned about the future of the service given its funding situation. I have taken the matter up at the highest levels with Government Ministers, West Lancashire Borough Council and NHS Central Lancashire.
“It is unacceptable that Shopmobility, a vital service to many disabled shoppers living in the area and for visitors coming to Ormskirk could be threatened by lack of financial support. I simply can’t believe that the Council with millions of pounds in the bank is seriously going to declare Ormskirk a ‘no go zone’ to the disabled if they can’t get about under their own steam.
“I will continue to raise these concerns and ask questions about the future funding of the service.”
