From Thursday 14th July a Post Office service was restored to Bescar Lane, Scarisbrick. The branch is located at the Bescar Lane Methodist Church and will be open on a Thursday from 11am to 3pm.
West Lancashire MP, Rosie Cooper, said of the new service;
“A new post office service is very good news for local residents. It makes a welcome change to see new services being available in rural communities, even if it is a limited service at the present time. For too long core services, such as post offices and banks and public transport, have been draining out of rural areas. The lack of accessible services makes life more difficult, especially for those without their own transport."
“I congratulate Mr Bill Croft the new post master and wish him good luck and every success. I am sure the residents of the Bescar Lane area will be pleased not to have to travel as often to use a post office. I am sure residents will be pleased to have local service."
"I look forward to this being the beginning of more services being restored to our rural communities.”
