18/07/07 Rosie Cooper MP takes action on graffiti hotspot in New

Rosie Cooper MP calls for tougher action to be taken on mindless vandals who blight the local landscape with graffiti. Her call came after she noticed the Newburgh Village welcome sign on Course Lane had been attacked by vandals and spray painted with graffiti.

Rosie said:

“I noticed the damage when I was passing through the village. I immediately reported the mess to Lancashire County Council to get the problem sorted out.”

“Graffiti is an eyesore and shows a complete lack of respect. We must show offenders that their actions will not be tolerated."

“I would like to thank the County Council for their timely assistance in removing the graffiti from the sign.”

If you are aware of any graffiti in your local area, then Rosie would like to hear from you at her constituency office on 01695 570094.
