Labour's candidate for West Lancashire, Rosie Cooper was today joined by Justice Secretary, Jack Straw as they visited Ormskirk School where they faced tough questions from sixth form students and school council members.
The Question & Answer session featured over 60 pupils from the school with questions ranging from higher education fees and university places, to the Leader's Debate and constitutional reform. The event took place in the appropriately named 'Forum'.
Labour candidate for West Lancashire, Rosie Cooper said:
"I was delighted to have Jack Straw to West Lancashire and especially to Ormskirk School to see the visible benefits of Labour investment over the past 13 years.
"We spoke to a number of young people who were happy about the refurbishment of their school. They also asked Jack some really great questions about the hot political topics of the day. It was really great to see so many young people engaged and interested in current affairs."
Justice Minister, Jack Straw said:
"It was great to be back in West Lancashire and visit Ormskirk School. I was delighted to see the tangible benefits of Labour's investment into the education of young people. The facilities were fantastic and a real testament to how much education has changed since 1997."
