Working hard for the people of West Lancashire

22/06/11 - Public sector strikes

West Lancashire MP Rosie Cooper said:

“Every decision this Government has taken heaps more pain on ordinary hard working families in West Lancashire.  They face rising costs to run a home, it costs more to get to work, the Government has slashed support to families with children whilst trebling the cost of a university education and people are having to work longer and pay more for their retirement.

“People are crying out for this Conservative-led Government to hear that they are struggling to keep their heads above water; and they are being ignored.  Unfortunately I share Ed Balls‘ fear over the strikes that this Government is spoiling for a fight as a smokescreen to hide their failing economic policies.”
