Rosie Cooper is calling for an immediate review of the Licence of the Knowl Brow Public House on Liverpool Road in Skelmersdale.
Over recent months there have been ever increasing problems in the area. MP Rosie has received a significant number of complaints from concerned residents.
What was a quiet residential area is now the centre for anti-social behaviour. Often in the early hours of the morning, residents are disturbed by foul and abusive language, bottles being smashed leaving broken glass and bottles in the street, people urinating and vomiting outside their homes and in their gardens.
West Lancashire MP Rosie Cooper said:
“It is absolutely unacceptable that local residents should have to put up with this level of nuisance behaviour and disturbance every weekend. I am grateful for the help and attention the Police have given to this matter and I have made contact previously with the Licensing team at the district council to strongly express resident’s anger and fear."
“’Weekend misery’ was the phrase used by one resident to describe the situation at present. Others have said how their health and wellbeing is being adversely affected by the anti-social behaviour.”
“Enough is enough. I believe that we have reached the point where a full review of the licence needs to be undertaken immediately to resolve this situation."
“I have also brought this matter to the attention of Admiral Taverns. Lynne D'Arcy, Joint Managing Director of Admiral Taverns assured me that Admiral views this matter very seriously and will investigate thoroughly and take appropriate action.”
