23/07/07 New lease of life for Angels as MP Rosie opens new shop

On Friday 22 June 2007 Rosie Cooper officially opened Angels Beauty Salon on Digmoor Parade, Skelmersdale.

The Salon which was previously located in Sandy Lane was due to close after the building’s lease expired in May. With the threat of closure, co-owners Jane Donald and Sara Vincent turned to the Council for help who were able to relocate the pair to a shop unit in Digmoor and offer some grant assistance.

The new salon will offer many treatments which are not available anywhere else in Skelmersdale or Ormskirk which include: a San Tropez spray tan self serving unit; a teeth whitening service; physiotherapy and chiropractic treatments, non surgical facial enhancements, a pedicure station, a whirlpool spa and a slimming clinic.

Rosie said:

“It is fantastic to see what they have achieved given that not too long ago they were threatened with closure.”

“Now we have a thriving local business that has new premises and that has created nine new jobs. We want to see local businesses that serve local communities and are of the local community flourish. We must do more to support such enterprise.”

“It just shows what can be achieved with a little persistence, effort and commitment. And I am sure that the salon will go from strength to strength over the coming years."
