23/10/08 MP Rosie calls for action following PCT report

WEST Lancashire MP Rosie Cooper is demanding action after a report said that services provided by Central Lancashire Primary Care Trust were ‘fair’.

Speaking following the publication of the Healthcare Commission’s Annual Health Check 2007/2008, Rosie said: “It is so disappointing but not surprising to see that Central Lancashire Primary Care Trust only managed to get a ‘fair’ rating, which means there is much scope for improvement next year such as tightening of processes and services including dental provision.

“The PCT’s new chief executive will be starting next month and I will be meeting him as soon as possible to discuss these results and insisting that the PCT puts patients first and makes better use of its resources.”
