MP Rosie Cooper is delighted with the news that Ormskirk’s town team has successfully secured £10,000 and additional support for their efforts to revitalise the high street.
On Tuesday 23rd October 2012 the Department for Communities and Local Government announced that the Ormskirk Town Team Partner application had been successful. The bid required the backing of Love Ormskirk as the lead town team group, the local authority and the Member of Parliament.
Successful bidders receive £10,000 to help towards putting some of their plans into action. They will also have access to a support package from the Association of Town Centre Management, which includes shared learning and best practice with help from retail experts.
In response to this announcement, West Lancashire MP Rosie Cooper said:
“I am delighted the Love Ormskirk town team bid was successful. The extra funding will offer a real boost to Love Ormskirk and their excellent work. It will support their plans for revitalising the town’s high street.
“I look forward to the town team project really starting to push ahead and I will continue to support Love Ormskirk in the work they are doing.”
Rosie Cooper MP has previously signed up to be a town team partner as part of the Department for Communities and Local Government programme.
