West Lancashire MP Rosie Cooper is encouraging local teachers to take advantage of a training opportunity offered to education professionals by Parliament’s Education Service.
Between 30th June - 4th July the Education Service will be hosting the annual Teachers Institute residential course in Westminster.
The course will give teachers a chance to experience Parliament in action based at the Houses of Parliament. Transport and accommodation costs are covered and applications are welcomed from across the UK, for teachers and education professionals working with children aged 7-18 across Citizenship, Politics, Law, History and other related subjects.
Rosie Cooper MP said:
“In recent weeks a number of schools from West Lancashire have visited Parliament giving them the opportunity to learn about the work of MPs.
“This free course aimed at teaching professionals will give them the chance to share their expertise and knowledge with teaching colleagues from across the UK. It will also give them time to explore new and exciting teaching ideas for the classroom.
“It is really worthwhile and enjoyable course and I highly recommend teaching staff from West Lancashire apply to take part.”
Deadline for applications is 08:00 Monday 31st March 2014.
