BUS company Arriva has agreed to look at extending services following representations from West Lancashire’s MP.
Rosie Cooper has secured an agreement from Phil Stone, Managing Director of Arriva North West and Wales, that the company will carry out a feasibility study on services in Skelmersdale.
Rosie said: “I was approached by residents in the Tawd Bridge area of Digmoor who were concerned that they had to walk a long distance to the bus stop on Southway, near the Concourse.
“At the moment, the perimeter and certain parts of Digmoor are served by the 375, 385 and 395 services but I want everyone to be able to access these services as conveniently as possible.
“I was pleased to hear from Arriva that they recently reintroduced the 310 service between Old Skelmersdale, Asda, Ashurst and Gillibrands. I shall continue to press the case for better public transport in West Lancashire and will be reporting back to residents once the study has been completed.”
