WEST Lancashire MP Rosie Cooper has praised the work of Moorgate Nursery School & Children’s Centre in Ormskirk.
Rosie was given a guided tour of the facility by Jan Holmes, head of the nursery, and Isabell Sutherland, extended services co-ordinator. It was Rosie’s second visit to Moorgate this year, having attended the grand opening of the children’s centre in May Rosie said: “I had a fabulous time at Moorgate. The staff and children were extremely friendly and it really is a lovely environment in which the children can learn through play. “Moorgate offers a whole host of services for families and also provides support for expectant mothers and fathers. Among the activities are parenting courses, baby massage, trips out, dads’ sessions and a baby music group. “In addition, there is a wonderful scheme where families can borrow toys from a toy library. There are 28 different bags of toys and they can be borrowed for up to two weeks at a time. “Sure Start centres such as Moorgate offer vital services to local families and I am proud that it was a Labour Government who brought them in. “I will fight hard to ensure they continue to be a success and play a key role in our local community both in the short term and the long term.” | |
