West Lancashire MP Rosie Cooper has added her support as a town team partner to a bid for £10,000 from the Department for Communities and Local Government as part of the ongoing Portas Review project.
The application to the Department required the support of the lead group of the town team, the local council along with the Member of Parliament.
This funding will be used to help the work of the town team in their efforts to support the local high street, in this case Ormskirk town centre.
MP Rosie said:
“I am delighted to add my name to this bid as part of the Our Town First Programme. The Love Ormskirk team has done an excellent job. Securing funding of this kind will offer a real boost to their work and help to make a real difference as we work towards reinvigorating and rejuvenating Ormskirk town centre.
“I have signed up with the Department for Communities and Local Government to be a town team partner and will do everything I can to support Love Ormskirk in the work they are doing.”
Now the town team await further information from the Department for Communities and Local Government following their application.
