MP Rosie supports Portas Pilot review bid for Ormskirk

West Lancashire MP Rosie Cooper said:

“We know Ormskirk and its history as a market town.  A place that is thought of fondly by many people locally and who visit from far and wide.  The retail study shows there are positive features in the town centre on which to build.  I know from speaking to local businesses and residents that they are ambitious for Ormskirk town centre and want it to be revitalised.  For example, in recent weeks a local business owner is planning to put a bid in to the Portas Review to make Ormskirk one of the high street pilot areas in an effort to reinvigorate the town centre.  These efforts must be applauded and supported by us all.  With today’s ever changes demands and expectations it is important that our town centres keep pace and are places that local residents want to come to.
