Rosie Cooper MP

Working hard for the people of West Lancashire

28/03/07 Rosie encourages local football teams to apply for fund

Local MP, Rosie Cooper is encouraging West Lancashire’s football teams, schools, and sports clubs to make the most of the Football Foundation’s funding opportunities.

Rosie said:

“I am urging all schools, sports clubs, youth clubs, football teams and local authorities in West Lancashire to make the most of the funding opportunity available. This is an excellent chance to improve the quality of our facilities through to replacing the ragged old football kits that have seen better days.”

The Football Foundation is the UK’s largest sports charity funded by the Premier League, The Football Association, Sport England and the Government. Since the Foundation began in July 2000 a total of 3,300 projects have benefited from £490 million of funding. There is £45 million available each year to fund building new changing rooms, all-weather pitches, starting community schemes, or even providing a brand new football strip and equipment for junior teams.
