"Clearly there has been a serious error made. Rules and procedures were put in place by government to protect people’s personal details and these rules were broken. It is vitally important that the Government ensures all future data is properly protected. Actions are underway to achieve this.
There is absolutely no evidence to suggest that the information has fallen into the hands of fraudsters and criminals. The Government immediately put in place safeguards on the bank accounts of those people affected.
