On the news of Robin Cook’s death Rosie Cooper MP said:
"The news of Robin Cook’s sadly premature death came as a huge shock. Even during my very short time in Parliament I am aware of just how prominent a politician Robin Cook was and how he was held in high esteem across all parties."
"It is clear from all the news coverage that above all else Robin Cook was a statesman, which is the highest compliment any politician can hope for at the end of their career. His belief in Parliamentary Democracy was as strong as his belief in the values of the Labour Party. Forever he will be remembered for giving one of the greatest and most gracious resignation speeches Parliament has ever witnessed. A politician of Robin Cook’s calibre is a real loss to British politics.”
"My thoughts are with his family at this most difficult of times.”
