30/10/08 MP Rosie gets assurances over rehabilitation services

ROSIE Cooper MP has received reassurances that rehabilitation services are to remain at Ormskirk Hospital.

Rosie, MP for West Lancashire, said: “Concerned constituents contacted me as they were worried that the rehabilitation services would be moved from Ormskirk Hospital to the new Extra Care Housing scheme and Well-Being Centre for Older People at the former Brookside Care Home on Aughton Street.

“I immediately contacted Central Lancashire Primary Care Trust, Ormskirk Hospital and Lancashire County Council who all assure me that no services will be moved.

“I am told that there will be a range of services at the new facility including rehabilitative services to treat people who have, for instance, had a fall, but these are not the same as acute based rehabilitation so there will be no impact on hospital services.”
