In response to the consultation results, West Lancashire MP Rosie Cooper said:
“The residents of Skelmersdale have had their say and made their voices heard. The message is clear to St Modwen and its partners, it’s time to get on with delivering the town centre.
“Local residents have been waiting six long years for this to happen and it is now close to becoming a reality. I very much welcome the news of a planning application being submitted in the immediate future.
“I would urge all partners to keep pushing ahead to ensure the first sod of the new town centre is cut as soon as possible. This will be the first phase and another step closer to a new town centre for Skelmersdale is being delivered.”
