Working hard for the people of West Lancashire

31/08/06 Liverpool City Council told to clean up their act by Ro

Local MP Rosie Cooper has told Liverpool City Council to stop littering the streets of West Lancashire. It appears recycling waste has been falling from vehicles when travelling through Simonswood causing a real litter problem for local residents.

Rosie Cooper contacted Liverpool City Council to make them aware of the problem and to get their contractor to take action and stop the litter from falling off the vehicles. Currently P D Logistics are fitting all their vehicles with curtains.

Rosie said:

“Littering the streets is a real problem that costs money to clean up. It is just not acceptable for professional waste removal companies not to take the necessary steps to transport their waste in a safe and clean manner.”

“I contacted Liverpool City Council to explain that this situation was not acceptable and that their contractor had to find a way to keep the rubbish on the vehicles. I have received assurances that P D Logistics will be fitting curtains to all their vehicles to stop this happening in the future.”
