West Lancashire MP Rosie Cooper has welcomed a review of outpatient diabetic services after shortcomings were highlighted by Rosie on behalf of constituents using the service.
One constituent had a delay in being given an appointment to use the service, which has brought to light certain weaknesses within the process for allocation appointments.
Southport and Ormskirk Hospital Trust have launched a review in the efficiency effectiveness of outpatient diabetic services.
MP Rosie said
“The NHS has to ensure that it is always striving to provide every patient the best possible service it can. In this instance the diabetic service fell short of its minimum requirements. I very much welcome the review and its outcomes which should be implemented with urgency. It is an issue I will discuss in more detail with Jonathon Parry, the Chief Executive, at one of our regular meetings.”
Rosie added “The treatment of conditions such as diabetes cannot be allowed to fall through the net.”
