Campaign to Prevent the Hostpital Merger

I successfully fought against the proposal to merge Southport and Ormskirk Hospital Trust with Aintree and Royal Liverpool. It would have created a single 'mega-trust' that would leave West Lancashire residents to make long journeys to use core health services. I was delighted to have significant support from local residents with thousands adding their name to a petition. I took the fight to the Secretary of State for Health, held Parliamentary Debates to stop the merge and save the future of Ormskirk Hospital. |
