Working hard for the people of West Lancashire

Making work pay

Far too many families who despite being in work find it difficult to make ends meet.

Hard work should be matched by fair pay. That’s why Labour will raise the minimum wage to £8 an hour by 2020.

Labour will also cut taxes for 24 million working people through a new starting rate of tax and will ban exploitative zero-hour contracts.  Labour is committed to supporting hardworking people by making work pay.
