Newburgh Post Office Campaign
In 2008, Newburgh Post Office was in danger of closing. The residents of Newbugh let me know that a cut to their services would greatly affect their rural community. I secured a meeting with senior Post Office executives, Post Office minister Pat McFadden and Secretary of State John Hutton to convey the serious problems this would cause. In April 2008, I successfully fought alongside local residents and we prevented the closure of Newbugh Post Office.
