Hon Theresa May MP, on the 6th September 2010, which is included below for your information. Rosie Cooper (West Lancashire) (Lab): The Home Secretary referred earlier to the comments of Assistant Commissioner Yates on the Radio 4 programme this morning. 16/03/11 - MP Rosie comments on Lancashire Police funding announcement
West Lancashire MP Rosie Cooper said: “Lancashire Constabulary is acknowledged as one of the best police forces in the country and they are clearly trying to reduce the impact of budget cuts on frontline policing. However, their hands are tied by the size and scale of the cuts introduced by the Conservative-led Government. To cut over £40 million will have an effect on policing in Lancashire. Middle and back office staff provide vital and necessary support that enables the frontline officers to do their jobs. There is no way to dress this up other than as...

MP Rosie has written to the Cabinet Member of Lancashire County Council calling on him to rethink this dreadful decision and not to sign the death warrant of community transport services.
