Petition replies flood in opposing NHS privatisation plans

Rosie_Cooper_MP_with_petition_signatures_(3).JPGWest Lancashire residents in their droves are making their voices heard in opposing West Lancashire Clinical Commissioning Group’s (CCG) plans to privatise local health services and the destabilising of Southport and Ormskirk Hospital NHS Trust.

Residents have been signing the 38 Degrees online petition, they came along to the street stall on the Action Day in Ormskirk town centre and are returning the petition reply slips on leaflets being delivered across West Lancashire.

In response to the overwhelming opposition to the privatisation plans, West Lancashire MP Rosie Cooper said:

“Residents are making their voices heard.

“They don’t want their NHS privatised.  Nor do they want to see their local hospital destabilised by decisions of local GPs.

“As leaflets continue to be delivered across West Lancashire, I would urge local residents to keep sending the reply slips and to keep signing the petition online.

“West Lancashire CCG claim to have been consulting people.  I’ve been doing my own consultation.  The message is loud and clear from the thousands of people who’ve responded they don’t support the CCG’s action being taken in their name.

“When you next visit your GP, don’t forget to ask them, why they are allowing this to happen in their name? Why are they supporting the privatisation of local services?

“Residents deserved to be heard and I will continue to campaign so their voices don’t continue to be ignored by local health bosses."
