Road safety improvement for Ormskirk rat-run welcomed

Rosie.jpgWest Lancashire MP Rosie Cooper has welcomed £66,000 funding to improve road safety on the Cottage Lane and Halsall Lane areas of Ormskirk by Lancashire County Council.

Funding from the Highways and Transport Capital Programme is being used to install traffic-calming measures and address road safety concerns, issues Rosie has been raising on behalf of local residents.

Speaking about the investment, West Lancashire MP Rosie Cooper said “Lancashire County Council have recognised that there are problems with speeding vehicles on these roads.

"Drivers tend to use them as a rat-run when travelling into and out of Ormskirk causing serious road safety concerns for local residents.

“This substantial involvement shows a real commitment by Lancashire County Council as the highways authority to tackle these safety concerns."
