Rosie Cooper MP meets with Tesco workers and manager

Tesco.jpgWest Lancashire MP Rosie Cooper visited Ormskirk’s Tesco Metro store on Friday 6 February to offer her support to staff and any help staff require.

MP Rosie met with store manager, Claire Zenko, following the announcement that the town centre store will close on 4 April 2015. One of the 43 Tesco stores set to close.

Rosie Cooper said:
“I am in regular contact with Tesco management and Usdaw to ensure staff are receiving the advice, training and support they need ahead of the store closure.

“I popped into the store to meet with local manager, Claire, to offer my support and let staff know that I am available should they wish to speak to me.

“I’ve experienced the same situation when I worked in retail and know how difficult this period can be.”

Rosie has previously spoken to Tesco who have confirmed that based on the store’s business case, it will not be saved from closure.
