Rosie Cooper MP says Skelmersdale Town Centre needs a start date

West Lancashire MP Rosie Cooper has welcomed the announcement of Lidl as one of the new Skelmersdale Town Centre anchor tenants.

However, she remains cautious until she sees a date for work to commence and a spade in the ground.

MP Rosie said:
“It is great news that Lidl have now followed Reel Cinemas in signing up to the new Skelmersdale Town Centre. With these first two tenants announced and signed, I look forward to seeing many more prominent retailers coming on board.

“I’ve previously accused St Modwen of forgetting the town, this time they’ve forgotten a start date!

“Skelmersdale and West Lancashire residents want to know when we are going to see this scheme get underway. We need to see a spade in the ground and diggers working for residents to be fully assured that this will go ahead. Action speaks louder than words.”
